I've always been a very creative person. From the first time I saw Star Wars I knew science fiction was my genre of choice. And from the first time my brother Billy's crackly copy of Bat Out Of Hell blasted out of my cheap stereo speakers I knew rock was the only music that counted for me, too.
Other things have come and gone over the years but oddly those two influences remain. I still love the music of Jim Steinman and I love Star Wars as much and even loved the prequels!
I started to create when I was pretty young. I remember writing one and two page stories instead of writing out lines for punishment after school.
I had sheets full of terrible song lyrics before I could ever play an instrument. Actually, I was really late learning my first instrument; I didn't pick up the guitar until I was 18. That was the first time I could afford one. I knew pretty early on I'd never be as good as the guys I loved because my damn fingers were just too clumsy, but what I lacked in technical skills I tried to make up for with passion. I still do that today.
I don't know which medium of expression is more important to me. I don't get up on stage anymore so I suppose the writing is more immediate a presence in my life, but when I write and record music when there is something there to be said, and doing that I have put together the three collections listed here.
Similarly, I am book-writing at the best pace of my life, and have focused on it like never before. Those are here. Hopefully you'll enjoy what you read and hear. I'm going to be selling them as soon as I work out all the kinks and odds and ends associated with online sales. Stay tuned for that.
